“I love my job”

I catch myself saying this a few times a month.  I almost feel like an addict of those 5 step programs when I say it.  It’s corny, but it’s true.  It is a privilege to be trusted by so many people to help them achieve their goals of health & wellness. It is always exciting seeing people free themselves from pain and change their lives. It is also a pleasure to see everybody’s best side.  Toronto residents may have a certain national reputation, but once in my office, they leave their grumpiness at the door.  I’m not sure what my clients are like in the “real world”  but in my office they are always either happy or happy to see me.

I have been an RMT for over 4 years, but I never find it monotonous.  In fact, I don’t think I have ever kept the same approach to treatment for more than 6 months.  I am always learning new techniques and approaches to healing and I quickly incorporate them into my treatments.  Each approach that I study is like a key that unlocks another secret of the human body.  It answers a few questions, raises so many more and often turns my understanding of massage therapy upside down.

Outside of work, I love music (my iPod runneth over) and travelling (I spent a good 7 years wandering, seeing as much of the world as I could.  I’ve visited 44 countries thus far and now that I have settled down in Toronto, I’m always looking for new ways to marry my work with my traveling.)
