The most disgusting health ads ever were recruited in 2009 for a New York City ad campaign battling obesity. Instead of communicating the benefits of health eating, or some of the risks of overeating, the campaing show in graphic detail some of the harsh realities of obesity. The ads are disturbing and repulsive and that is the point: to give an image that will stick in our minds long after it is shown. After watching them, I wish that I could unwatch them. The ad where the man drinks a pop can filled with human fat is unforgettable. While I find these ads highly distasteful, I do hope that they are successful in getting people to reconsider what they are doing to their bodies.
